THE Man O’War Pub and Restaurant has been awarded Best Outdoor Space in Dublin at the 2026 Irish Pub Awards, much to the delight of owners Erica and Rob Masterson. Although they have owned the establishment for only four years, they found themselves competing against hundreds of pubs, including some of the biggest names in Dublin’s hospitality scene. On November 12, they attended the awards dinner at theMansion House alongside winners across 70 categoriesAn institution in Fingal, the Man O’War is perched on a hill overlooking what was once the main coach road from Dublin to Belfast, with a history dating back to at least 1595. Its iconic exterior is instantly recognisable, attracting busloads of tourists eager to experience a piece of authentic Irish heritage. Yet when Erica and Rob purchased the pub in November 2021, the rear courtyard was seldom used, and most visitors had no idea such a large space existed behind the traditional frontage.
